- Title Stunt gone Wrong - A Twisted Parachute Leads To A Close Call In The Air
- Summary Luca Ferreira, 33 years old, Skydiver Instructor. Originally from Brazil was filming himself and jumping partner Brad Geary free falling in the air over San Diego. During a skydive, Luca and Brad tried to do a Mr Bill exit of the airplane with their high performance parachutes. A Mr. Bill is a stunt skydive performed by two experienced skydivers. During exit, one skydiver deploys their parachute while the other skydiver holds on to them. However unfortunately when Luca deploys the parachute it becomes twisted and while trying to fix this in the small reaction time they had, Brad is slingshot away from Luca and sent hurtling to the ground below. Despite the close call and harrowing footage both Skydivers survived the ordeal. Luca said: "There's not much time to think during these moments, more like reacting to the situation the way we were trained " In this case with a harness connecting us and due to a line twist on opening,we spun out and eventually Brad is slingshot out and held by the connection point on the harness causing him a impact that scared him in the moment."
