The Role

ARK Media is looking for a Content Acquisition Specialist to join our video licensing team, working to discover, research, and partner with creators from around the world. Your role will be to find the most captivating user-generated content (UGC) for our clients. This isn’t an HR or talent acquisition position but rather a dynamic role in content research and outreach.
About You
To excel in this role, you should be exceptionally internet-savvy with advanced research skills and a strong understanding of the UGC and viral video landscape. You’ll need to be highly detail-oriented and quick to identify promising videos, while demonstrating a natural ability to connect with creators via phone and social media. An adaptable schedule, including night shifts and weekends, is a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Lead to understand ARK Media’s content goals and apply these insights in your day-to-day responsibilities.
- Evaluate and select user-generated videos that meet our business needs and licensing standards.
- Investigate and research potential video leads to determine viability for licensing.
Reach out to content creators across various channels to explain our licensing services and initiate agreements. - Negotiate and manage legal agreements with creators, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ARK Media’s standards.
- Document and organize the entire acquisition workflow following company guidelines.
What We’re Looking For
Flexibility: Comfortable with a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Trend Awareness: A solid understanding of media, pop culture, and internet trends, as well as familiarity with video-sharing platforms.
Focus & Analysis: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, spending extended periods watching and evaluating video content.
Technical Savvy: Reliable internet connection, proficiency in new technologies, image clearance, or intellectual property rights is a plus.
Communication Skills: Friendly and confident phone presence, with strong verbal and written skills.
Self-Motivation: Ability to achieve goals independently, with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail.
