- Title Woman Shows How She Cleans Peoples Dirty Eyelash Extensions
- Summary My name is Ipek Ozcan I am 21 years old and from London UK. I am a Beautician however, my main focus within beauty is Eyelash Extensions. So I am technically an Eyelash Extension specialist. These videos were filmed from the start of 2020 up until now, all at different times. They were all filmed in the Salon I rent a room in, located in Islington, Holloway. Eyelash extensions require maintenance. They are to be cleaned, brushed and groomed every single day. Some clients fail to follow the aftercare given to them. Which is why they become unclean and clumped together. My friends and families reaction to the videos were hilarious. It was so bad they never knew what to say. They were pretty shocked. Most people think of my job as simple and straightforward, just apply the lashes and that's it. But it's so much more than that and they've realised that. My mum couldn't stop gagging. She couldn't even finish watching the video. If I remember correctly her exact words were "are you sure your in the right line of work? How can you deal with lashes like that?". My dad was mortified, he said "how do they come back for an infill with their lashes like that?" My friends immediately got up and started cleaning their lashes haha. In the video, the lashes are this bad because this is a very extreme case. This particular client wears extremely heavy makeup and loose eyeshadow every single day. She fails to clean her eyelash extensions at the end of everyday. As you can see these lashes are not 'freshly applied' lashes they have been building up with makeup, oils and dirt over a 4 week period without being cleaned once. It's so sever that the uncleanliness has developed into blepharitis which is an eye condition that is caused by a specific bacteria which is attracted by dirt, oils and grime. As you can see, the eyelash extensions are also clumped together and her natural lashes are coming out too! This happens because: she doesn't clean them, so the oils, makeup and dirt, cause the extensions to fuse together. Once they fuse together they become too heavy for the natural lashes to hold, so the natural lashes eventually just snap off with along with the extensions. We recommend using a lash cleansing foam to clean the eyelash extensions every single day to reduce the risk of infections. If you can not get an eyelash extension cleanser, you can use Garnier micellar water (pink link) to clean them for the time being until you manage to get ahold of a lash cleanser.
