Police Called by Staff After Alleged Complaint About Child’s Behaviour Despite Being Told They Have Autism
- Title Police Called by Staff After Alleged Complaint About Child’s Behaviour Despite Being Told They Have Autism
- Summary After a child was excited to order food, this employee allegedly complained about the child being too loud and refused to serve them, in a TikTok that amassed over 11 million views. Linda Rosa was waiting to get food in Santa Maria, California, when they noticed one of the employees allegedly being rude to a family with a young child. The employee supposedly refused to serve the family due to the child being loud and told them she would call the police if they did not leave immediately. The family told the employee to call the police and apologised to Linda, who was waiting behind them. The parents explained to Linda that the employee gave them an attitude because their son was stimming, as he has autism. After the video was posted online, NFL player Warren Sapps sent the boy a signed football, and there was also a protest outside the fast food chain, where Linda got to speak with the family again. Linda said, "The little boy had been waiting all week to get Popeyes chicken and was very excited. Because he had autism, he was repeating the word chicken but nothing disruptive, just a kid being a kid."
