- Title New Footage Shows Rescue Mission For Dog That Became Stuck In 12ft Sinkhole
- Summary After nearly two hours, a Labrador was rescued after a 12-foot sinkhole opened in their back garden. The various footage showing the heavy-duty rescue mission was captured by neighbour, Charles Facey, on March 25th, in Falmouth, Massachusetts, United States. Falmouth Fire were called to the scene after the owner, David, noticed his dog, Tessie, had not come inside from playing. Looking over his fence, he discovered a sinkhole had opened, with Tessie at the bottom of it. Emergency responders arrived at the scene after David called 911, fearing he could get trapped in the hole. To ensure safety, the crew stabilised the surface around the sinkhole whilst his neighbour, Charles, captured the scenes. The Barnstable County Technical Rescue Team was called in to assist with the operation. After nearly two hours, his 11-year-old lab was brought out of the sinkhole safely. She was given some pepperoni after the ordeal, as crews worked to fill the hole. Falmouth Fire wrote regarding the incident, “She was uninjured and happily celebrated her rescue by finishing the remaining treats. “We are grateful that her owner called 911 immediately rather than attempting a dangerous solo rescue.”
