• Title Man Impressively Stays In Kayak After Pack of Manatees Ferociously Rock Boat
• Summary While kayaking, this man braced for impact when several manatees swam under his boat before exploding to the surface. Raymond Villa had been out in Ormond Beach, Florida, fishing for redfish and seatrout for several hours. Initially, Raymond had seen around four manatees at a safe distance and thought it was really cool. However, after two of the manatees swam under the kayak, Raymond quickly realised that they were going to rock the boat and he grabbed the sides to brace for impact. During the commotion, Raymond was slapped by one of the manatees before noticing that there were now around 20 manatees around him. After the animals swam away, they appeared to create a Mexican wave of spiral splashes in the air. Then, in order to get home, Raymond was forced to paddle past the pack and was feeling very nervous, wanting to avoid repeating the situation. Raymond said, “I was amazed, did not intend to spook these beautiful, gentle beasts.”
