- Title Fast-Paced River Seen Gushing Ice During Seasonal ‘Ice-Out' Phenomenon
- Summary A natural phenomenon known as an ‘ice out’ was caught on camera, showing a heavy flow of ice moving down a river at a fast pace. The rarely captured phenomenon was recorded by Donna Godin, on March 10th, in Lancaster, New Hampshire, United States. An ‘ice out’ refers to the natural and seasonal phenomenon where the ice cover on a body of water breaks up. Donna was out for a walk when she suddenly heard a noise approaching her and getting louder. She suddenly saw the river full of chunks of ice, flowing past her at high speeds. The water levels in the river were rising fast, causing Donna to wonder if she should move away. Luckily, the river began to slow after a few minutes of the spectacle. Reflecting on the phenomenon she was able to witness, Donna said: “I just happened to be at the right place at the right time when the ice decided to break and come crashing down the river. “What an incredible experience!”
