- Title Frozen River Partially Melts And Creates ‘Ice Jam’ As It Blocks Water From Flowing
- Summary As a frozen river began to thaw, large slabs of ice broke apart and surged downstream, eventually piling up in a powerful jam that caused damage to nearby cars and homes. On March 7th in Meaford, Canada, James Peglar was on the banks of a river when he documented the immense size of an ‘ice jam’ that occurred due to the shift in weather. After temperatures rose, a frozen river began to melt and shift the ice downstream. However, the ice then began to get congested and stuck, causing a huge pile-up. James stated that emergency services were called to dig a large trench in order to get the water flowing once again.
