- Title Stranded Truck Driver Rescued via Helicopter As Dangerous Floods Hit South Australia
- Summary A truck driver had to be airlifted to safety after they were stranded inside their truck due to extreme flooding that swallowed their vehicle. The amazing rescue mission was captured by LifeFlight on March 1st in Yunta, South Australia. LifeFlight was supporting flood-related rescues when they spotted the truck stuck on the Barrier Highway. Travelling from Broken Hill to Yunta, the helicopter flew 200km southwest to help rescue individuals. A crewman can be seen being winched from the helicopter onto the roof of the truck. The crewman banged on the window, allowing the driver to climb out of the cabin of his vehicle. Both the rescue crewman and the truck driver were safely winched back onto the aircraft. South Australia police officers were able to assist the man once the helicopter landed a few hundred metres away from the dangerous floodwaters.
