The plan was for David’s father-in-law, John, to use his bow and arrow to shoot the balloon to reveal pink or blue smoke. However, while setting up, David’s mother-in-law accidentally popped the balloon while trying to place some tape on it. Despite the mistake, David assured his mother-in-law she had not ruined the reveal, and both he and his wife were excited to find out they were having a boy.
