- Title Highly Trained Dog Accurately Detects Bowel Cancer Across Multiple Samples
- Summary A video shows off the incredible capabilities of a dog that has been trained to successfully detect cancer in urine samples. The Medical Detection Dog organisation in Milton Keynes posted to their social media an example of the work they do to train dogs to detect cancer. Samples containing 2ml of urine were placed in different stands for Callie, the dog, to sniff and try to detect the sample from a patient with bowel cancer. The dog has also been trained to ignore samples that are from patients with different bowel issues, such as IBS. Callie was able to successfully detect the sample, aiding in delivering an accurate, rapid and non-invasive test for early diagnosis in clinical settings.
