- Title Beautiful Solar Halo Forms Above Ski Slope In Italy
- Summary On January 2nd, Pierpaolo Guzzo was skiing in the Dolomites in Selva di Val Gardena, Italy, when they spotted a bright solar halo. The halo was uniquely at a relatively low altitude, seemingly because of fog emerging from the valley. The halo allegedly only lasted for about half an hour, disappearing when the fog froze, and the ice crystals settled. Pierpaolo said, “It was really cool to experience in person, it was like seeing a circular rainbow around the sun that moved with you and was visible from every angle.”
