Summary When these baby squirrels tried to run together on a spinning wheel, one lost their footing, causing them to get spun upside down. Karenlynn Stracher, a New York State DEC licensed wildlife rehabilitator, rescued the flying squirrels from an air conditioning system in a home in Merrick, New York, on December 26th. Over the winter, Karenlynn purchased a wheel to provide the babies with exercise and enrichment before they are released in the spring. After one of the flying squirrels crashed out, the other squirrel tactfully hopped off the wheel safely before the fallen animal could get back on their feet.
