• Title Confusing Traffic Incident As Pedestrian Standing In The Middle Of The Road Is Hit By SUV
• Summary Traffic camera footage recovered by the Milford Police Department captured the moment a Black Toyota SUV slammed into a man who was standing in the middle of the road. On December 16th, the pedestrian in the video, identified as an 18-year-old male, was standing in the road at the intersection of Main Street and Water Street. The pedestrian seemed aware of the approaching vehicles but did not move out of their way. In the clip, the pedestrian seemed to notice that the approaching SUV was not going to stop and, at the last minut,e attempted to run out of its path. However, the pedestrian’s efforts were too little too late, and the SUV slammed into the side of the man. First responders found the 18-year-old male lying on the ground, reporting pain to his back and limbs. The patient was transported to UMASS Memorial Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Milford Police Department commented that, “Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian may have been attempting to assist a large box truck that was backing out of a parking lot at the time of the collision."
