After hearing their neighbour’s dog barking, Elizabeth’s husband went out into the garden to investigate, and he saw a large bear sitting on their fence. Their small dog saw this and ran out to begin barking at the bear as they locked in a standoff. Frightened by the confrontation, the couple tried to call their dog back while also attempting to scare off the bear, which eventually shimmied down the fence and wandered away.
