- Title Trespassing Man Throws Dog At Deputies In Failed Attempt To Evade Arrest
- Summary On November 4th, in Tacoma, Washington, deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff's Office detained a man who threw his helpless pet at them in an attempt to escape. Community Liaison Deputies were conducting security checks on a recently cleared homeless encampment. Upon discovering a man with a tent set up, deputies informed the man that he was trespassing. Deputies asked the man for his name, which he refused to give. After 20 minutes of negotiating and the man giving them multiple fake names, deputies then informed him that he would be detained until they could figure out his real name. This is when the man threw his dog at the deputies and attempted to flee on foot. But the man quickly fell to the ground and was detained by the deputies on scene, who used a taser deployment to get him into custody. He was booked for aggravated assault on a police officer, harassment, resisting arrest, trespassing, and animal cruelty and is currently being detained at Pierce County Jail. Luckily, the dog's future is looking brighter as he did not sustain any injuries and animal control took custody of him. He is now being cared for at the Tacoma Humane Society and adoption papers were submitted for him on November 24th, so there is high hope that he will be placed in a loving home very soon.
