- Title Captured Bear Sprints Out Of Cage After Being Released Back Into Wild
- Summary A bear that was exploring a campsite was moved by a park ranger and released back into the wild, showing the process they need to do to keep both the public and the bear safe. Cameron Parker and his family were camping in the Great Smoky National Park in Gatlinburg, on October 11th, when they came across a park ranger about to release a black bear into the woods. Once the door of the cage was lifted, the ranger started to fire a paintball gun at the ground near the bear to scare it, causing the animal to sprint into the nearby wilderness. The ranger explained to Cameron that it is vital that they make as much noise as possible so the bear does not associate the campground with food and safety. He then later shot a flare to make more noise, with the bear then scarpering deeper into the wilderness.
