- Title 787-Year-Old Medieval ‘Torre dei Conti’ Partially Collapses In Rome Leaving Bystanders Shocked
- Summary Residents and tourists of Rome were left shaken when they witnessed a nearly 800-year-old medieval tower partially collapsing near the iconic Colosseum. On November 3rd, Ignacio Cordero Núñez watched on in shock as he began to watch the Torre dei Conti crumble before partially collapsing. As firefighters were already on hand, the video shows two officers on a crane close by as the tower collapses, covering the surrounding area in huge plumes of dust. Workers were carrying out restoration work on the tower when it collapsed. Firefighters were able to retrieve the workers trapped for 11 hours in the rubble, but one did not withstand the injuries suffered and died soon after.
