- Title Raccoon Rescue: Selfless Couple Helps Save Drowning Animal
- Summary When a raccoon found itself trapped in deep water and grew too exhausted to swim, one couple spent half an hour fighting to save its life. While Elizabeth Heffron and her partner Will DeLeo were on their sunrise walk on October 23rd, in Charleston, South Carolina, Will spotted a struggling raccoon swimming in the sea. Finding a nearby construction cone, Will lowered that into the water in an attempt for the raccoon to latch itself onto it but was unsuccessful after a few attempts. As the raccoon grew more and more exhausted, the couple’s desperation to save the helpless animal only deepened and despite several attempts coming close, they refused to give up. Eventually, Will was able to lift the raccoon and place it on the wall before leaving it to get down by itself and off to safety.
