- Title Scary Footage Shows Fast-Paced Rescue Mission To Save Baby Elephant From Drowning
- Summary A rescue mission took place after a baby elephant calf had gotten stuck in a water trough and was at risk of drowning. The footage was provided by Sean Micheal and took place in Tsavo, Kenya, on September 23rd. Sean works for the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a wildlife charity and leading conservation organisation. The video shows the helpless calf in the water as members of the charity assess the situation. A member of the team jumps into the water to save the calf, despite the mother elephant being close by and aggravated. The elephant calf weighs around 90 kilograms, causing multiple team members to move her. After a slight struggle, the calf was able to be removed from the water trough and placed onto sturdy ground. Rushing towards her baby, the mother of the calf came rushing back as the staff members exited the scene at a safe distance.
