During a hike through Idleyld Park, Oregon, on September 17th, hiker Jason Hawkins happened to spot a small dog in a wooded area. Approaching the dog, Jason discovered that the lost dog was friendly enough to pet, but got spooked if he tried to pick it up. Patiently, Jason sat with the dog and devised a plan on how he would get the dog back to the footpath and into an area where he had phone service. Using a clip from his camera tripod, Jason was able to attach that to the dog's collar and walk it back to his car. Thankfully, Jason was able to contact the owners and reunite them with their beloved pet, who had managed to jump out of their car on a nearby road.
