- Title Fighting For Survival: Mother And Baby Whale Trapped In Netting
- Summary This devastating footage shows both a mother and baby humpback whale wrapped up in nets. The footage was captured by Geoff Aquino on September 17th in Noosa, Queensland. It shows both the mother and baby calf fighting to escape and using all of their strength to break free. The whales are both trapped within shark nets at the entrance to Noosa National Park. Geoff, who has filmed marine life for over eight years, says he has never witnessed something this horrific. He said, “This is not just heartbreaking—it is an outrage. These so-called ‘protective’ shark nets are death traps, sold as safety while they butcher the very wildlife we are meant to protect.” The whales are currently still stuck but there is a rescue crew currently at the site in an attempt to help free and relocate the mammals. NOTE: The video does not have sound.
