- Title Police Reunite With Five-Year-Old Weeks After They Find Him Alone In Chick-fil-A
- Summary After staff at a local fast-food restaurant alerted police about a young child who had wandered in alone, officers not only brought him safely home but returned weeks later for a heartwarming reunion. On June 24th, officers of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in Florida were called after a young child had walked into a Chick-fil-A on his own. After arriving, the police calmly spoke to the boy and asked him how he got there and where he lived. Taking him in the squad car, they eventually got him home and found that he had slipped through the gates, meaning they needed to climb over to knock on the door of the boys’ house. The family were in complete shock and had no idea the boy had left the house and were visibly shaken by the event. A few weeks later, the officers reunited with the family at the same Chick-fil-A where this story began. The police said: “To be clear, William’s parents are not in any trouble. “They had several safety measures in place but this is a good reminder to teach kids their home address, parents’ names, and a phone number. “It could make a big difference in an emergency.”
