- Title Surfer Miraculously Escapes After 5-Metre Shark Takes Giant Bite From Surfboard
- Summary A surfer made a miraculous escape from a huge great white shark but was left with a huge chunk missing from his board. Kim Tonge caught the aftermath of the attack at Cabarita Beach, New South Wales, Australia, on August 18th. The beach has reportedly been forced to close temporarily following the attack, according to local reports. In the clip, the survivor shows off his board, which had been broken in half by the shark, to fellow beachgoers and surfers. The shark allegedly skimmed his leg when it bit his board. Kim said: "Apparently it looked like the board had exploded as it was split in half and both halves went opposite ways. "Our friend Kane was right near it and saw the shark and said it was at least four metres white – later confirmed to be five metres. " Everyone was quite shaken and realised just how lucky the guy was. "This is the second attack on this beach in the last two months. "The beach is now closed and the community are very grateful that no one was lost today!"
