- Summary On July 24th in Jacksonville, Florida, Ashley Santora recorded the moment her brave nine-year-old daughter, Gianna, finally rang the cancer-free bell. Gianna was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, and after enduring 29 rounds of chemo and having an amputation/rotationplasty of her knee and part of her femur, she was finally declared cancer-free and officially in remission. In the clip, Gianna was accompanied by her supportive nurse and brother as she walked out of the hospital ward. She turned a corner to meet a crowd of people cheering her on, including cheerleaders with pom poms and various members of hospital staff, friends, and family members. Ashley commented that, “She still has a long road ahead awaiting her prosthetic as her wound on her leg is still healing from surgery she had in February.” However, the family is overjoyed that Gianna’s chemo treatment is finally over.
