- Title Iconic 12-foot Twitter HQ Sign Detonated In Desert After It Was Sold For $34,000
- Summary A 12-foot tall Twitter logo was blown up in the middle of the desert after a company purchased it for $34,000 at an auction. The giant sign of "Larry" the bird was once attached to Twitter's headquarters in San Francisco before the social media platform was purchased by Elon Musk. The 560 lb blue mascot was bought by the company DitchIt earlier this year after Twitter HQ auctioned off some of it's property. In a dramatic clip, DitchIt branded cars transported the enormous sign onto the desert. They then blew up the sign in a huge explosion in Jean, Nevada on June 11th. DitchIt auctioned off the scorched remains through a sealed bid on its own app. Proceeds are pledged to the Center for American Entrepreneurship, according to DitchIt.
