From one birthday to the next, the footage shows the incredible difference between her mum’s birthday in 2024, while she was in active addiction, compared to this year, where she is sober and getting to know her two grandchildren. The journey has been difficult for both Mistena and her mum, but they revealed that they "wouldn’t change it for the world". Amazingly, Mistena’s mum will be celebrating being one year sober on July 13. Mistena said: “My kids absolutely love my mum and they adore her. My mum loves getting to know them and being in their lives; it’s been beautiful to see. “They still call her by name, Shannon, but whenever they want to, they can absolutely call her grandma, but I think it’ll just take some more time. “I can’t lose what I’ve built trying to fix where I came from. The first six months were pretty brutal, but it has gotten a lot better. “The transformation has been incredible. I am so proud of her."
