- Title Woman Witnesses Two Hawaiian Volcanic Episodes Up Close
- Summary This woman was left in awe after being able to witness two separate episodes at Kilauea volcano on different occasions. On June 4, Kelli Veras was on Devastation Trail at Keanakako'i Overlook, Hawaii, where she was able to see lava fountains reaching over 1000ft. Volcanic episodes refer to the periods of volcanic activity and the time between them, where they can vary greatly in duration, from a few hours, days or even weeks. Kelli was lucky enough to be able to witness another eruption on June 20, this time with the lava reaching triple the height of the caldera wall. Kelli said: “I couldn't zoom all the way in or I couldn't shoot the whole thing. “I’m so grateful to be alive and here for these moments. “I will never ever forget this day.”
