- Title Diver Reunited Owner With Missing Phone Found In River
- Summary This lucky woman was reunited with her phone after it was lost in a river for over a year, as a diver mistook it for a piece of trash, in a TikTok video that gained 8.4 million views. Dallas Rowley was diving in Phoenix, Arizona, when he found what he thought was a piece of trash, but upon closer inspection, saw it was a phone in a waterproof pouch. He took it to shore to discover the ‘trash’ was a cooler handle with a phone lanyard pouch attached to it. After opening the pouch, he found a little bit of water inside, so he dried the phone out in his food dehydrator for 24 hours. Much to his surprise, the phone worked when he plugged it into power, so he took out the SIM card to find the owner’s phone number. After calling the owner, she was shocked to see it still worked. She revealed the phone had been tied to an ice chest handle for safekeeping, but as they were getting out of the river, the person in charge of the ice chest forgot about it as a stranger grabbed the chest. However, the handle came off as they picked it up and the stranger dropped it in the water and the phone went with it. Dallas shipped the phone back to her and she was so grateful to finally be reunited with her old phone.
