Titanium Oura Ring Gets Stuck On Woman’s Finger And Has To Be Professionally Removed By Firefighters In ER
- Title Titanium Oura Ring Gets Stuck On Woman’s Finger And Has To Be Professionally Removed By Firefighters In ER
- Summary On May 13th, in New York City, Dean Glas filmed his wife, Niki, as she was forced to have her Oura ring professionally removed by a team of firefighters in a hospital’s emergency room. In the clip, the firemen used an electric cutter to slice into the titanium Oura ring without harming Niki’s hand. An Oura Ring is a smart ring used to track sleep and physical activity and had become stuck on Niki’s finger after her hands had swelled in the night. In the morning, this caused Niki’s finger to turn purple and Dean recounted how he heard his wife screaming with panic that she couldn't remove the ring. After trying to remove the ring themselves, the couple rushed to an urgent care clinic, who immediately informed them that they would need to go to an ER. At the ER, they tried to remove the ring with string methods, tools, and a numbing spray, but nothing worked. The Oura ring is made of titanium and has electronics in it, and Dean commented that the ring is, “Basically a tiny, fashionable prison for your finger.” The doctors called in firefighters as backup when they couldn't remove the ring, and eventually, Niki’s hand was free.
