- Title Stranded British Football Fans Forced to Sleep on Hotel Floors After Travel Disaster In Bilbao
- Summary A furious football fan claims thousands of Brits were left stranded on the streets of Bilbao after an alleged public transport disaster following the Europa League Final. Melvyn Barnes recorded the fans sleeping on the floor of a hotel lobby following the Manchester United Vs Tottenham Hotspur game on May 21st. Melvyn claims the Raddison hotel had no choice but to let random fans take shelter in their lobby as it was freezing cold outside. In the clip, he shows how his own young son was forced to sleep on a luggage trolley as all public transport, including buses and trains, was allegedly unavailable. Melvyn claims his pre-booked taxi was cancelled once the match was finished and surrounding taxi drivers were allegedly charging three times the price. According to Melvyn, he and his son had no choice but to wander in search of transport or shelter. Melvyn said: "We found a hotel where my now freezing son was able to sleep on a luggage trolley only to be turfed out by local police within an hour, into the pouring rain too. "I was left on the streets, in the cold night air, with my young son — exhausted, frightened, and increasingly distressed for hours. "There were elderly fans, people with disabilities, and parents like me who were simply trying to get their children to safety. "It was chaos, and it was completely avoidable."
