The event’s schedule included a ‘shootout’, an unofficial boat race where drivers attempt to hit top speeds. The driver was trying to utilise all 10,000 bhp to surpass the lake speed record of 206mph. But when the speed lifted the nose of the vessel off the surface of the water, the wind picked up and sent the boat somersaulting in the air before it landed upside down back on the water. According to local reports, the two men aboard the boat are expected to recover with no major injuries.
