According to Julia, the tides had risen much quicker than they expected and when they attempted to reach another shore, they found the sand had gone underwater. The stuck couple swam to a nearby abandoned boat and waved down passersby for help. Luckily, a passing boat noticed the couple and picked them up to return them to shore.
