Lily purchased the rice from Newbury Park, Ilford in London and showed the rice packet expiration date as 21/07/2025. The 18-year-old then revealed huge clumps of gone-off rice inside the packet. An Aldi spokesperson said: “Although very rare, incidents like this can occasionally occur if packaging is damaged at any point before the product is consumed, as the contents may be exposed to air. “We are sorry that this product did not meet our usual high standards and would encourage the customer to return the product to their local store so we can investigate further, and they can obtain a refund."
