• Summary A video posted to Instagram has garnered over 95 million views as a cute, wide-eyed bat eats a banana whilst being groomed. Lucas, a rescued flying fox, had been homed by a non-profit organisation in Queensland called Bats QLD when they needed to find a way to keep the bat comfortable while they tried to remove parasites from his fur. The team members gave Lucas his favourite snack of a banana, to keep the animal calm while they removed the pests. Bats QLD said: "Batflies are a special kind of wingless flies found on flying foxes and microbats. "Although there is no evidence of them doing any harm, their number usually reflects how well the animal is doing. "A healthy and fit bat can keep batfly numbers low by meticulously grooming their fur. "Large numbers of batflies usually indicate the bat being compromised and not in peak condition."
