- Title Ice Cream Float: Rising Tide Sweeps Up Ice Cream Van Parked On Beach
- Summary This ice cream van owner was caught out by the rising tide in a Cornish bay as it was washed out to sea. Richard Higman was watching from above as the Kelly’s Ice Cream van became stuck on the beach in Harlyn Bay, near Padstow, on July 7. People were attempting to pull the truck out of the beach with the incoming high tide looming. But it was too late as the tide came in and began to wash the van away. Fortunately, the van only half-flooded and allowed it to float in the sea, managing to see out the tide as it touched down on the beach. A local farmer was on hand to tow out the sodden van with a tractor.
