As the officers asked how he was, Ridler looked confused before he sighed in defeat at the prospect of going back inside. However, after the initial shock of seeing the officers, Ridler saw his family laughing whilst waiting for him and quickly pieced together what was happening. Ridler said: “From my face, you can tell I gave up and was ready to cry.”
