- Title American Woman Gets Her Grandmas Locs Woven Into Her Own Hair In Memory Of Her
- Summary This granddaughter showed the process she went through to get her deceased grandmother’s locs woven into her own hair, in a TikTok video that has accumulated 6.7 million views. Destiny Frieson was at her home in Chicago, Illinois, when she decided she wanted to get the new hair done in memory of her grandma. After her grandmother had passed, the only thing Destiny wanted in memory of her, was a box of her locs which she had hidden in her cupboard. However, seeing the locs only brought memories of her grandmother back so it took a couple of years for Destiny to pluck the courage of getting them woven into her own hair. After finding a salon who would do this, she took the box of locs and spent seven hours in the chair whilst the hairdresser carefully added them to her head. Eventually Destiny showed the final result and revealed how ecstatic she was with the results. Destiny said: “I saw her locs in my closet while cleaning and I took them out, looked at them for a while, then went to my bathroom to look in the mirror and saw who I wanted to be like. “Since losing my grandmother I struggled with being happy and my brain made a connection by attaching her hair to my hair, I'd be loc-ing in her strength, love, wisdom and courage with me. “I decided to record the journey because not only was it an emotional roller coaster it was a change in my look permanently and I knew once I did this I was loc’ed in for life ,no turning back and no cutting them off.” "Morning" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
