- Summary Additional Images Available Upon Request On March 23, at 11:00 a.m, West Precinct officers in Gwinnett County responded to a dispute at a waste management business which had resulted in an employee stealing a tractor. Upon arrival, a responding officer had attempted to stop the suspect however was unsuccessful as the driver had exited the site and onto the main roads. While the suspect drove sporadically around the surrounding areas, squad cars were set up to block traffic and keep watch over the large getaway vehicle. Meanwhile, the initial responding officer had returned to the site and commandeered another large construction vehicle in an attempt to disable the 75,000 lb tractor that was now on the loose in a pedestrianised area. After an approximate five mile chase, the pursuing front loader was able to catch up to the fleeing suspect and flip it onto its side, resulting in a successful arrest. The suspect, Eddie Sanchez, was removed from the cab of the front loader and placed under arrest. During this entire incident, no motorists were injured, nor were any vehicles or patrol cars damaged.
