Tina Lane-Rathbun was at home in the US, on March 8, when she noticed her lip piercing was a little sore and swollen, so she put ice on it. When she woke up the next day, she noticed that the piercing had vanished from the front of her lip but the bar was still in her mouth. Upon close inspection, Tina was mortified to see that the piercing was stuck inside her lip. Tina said: “I’ve had this piercing for years and it swelled for a couple of days, then overnight it was inside my lip.”
