- Title Presenter Reveals What It Was Like Being An Extra On Harry Potter
- Summary A presenter has revealed her experience on being an extra in the Harry Potter series, from what it was like to how much they were paid and even how Dumbledore spat in her face. Samantha Clinch was at her home in London, on September 27, when she took to Tiktok to reveal what it was like working on the Harry Potter movies as a child actor. Revealing that she was an extra before being given the part of Eloise Midgen, Samantha revealed how much fun she used to have on set and the gratitude she has for the experience. From what they ate in the Great Hall, to the no stealing rules they had on set, she revealed the highs and lows of her time, whilst remembering the friends she made, including one lad called George. She revealed how the Great Hall tables were filled with real food like Squares and iced buns and how the actors were allowed to eat as much as possible, with Samantha likening it to an all inclusive hotel. Whilst discussing Dumbledore, she revealed that during a scene, the actor actually accidentally spat on her face whilst saying his line as he shouted ‘the dementors are coming’ and quoted this as a career highlight. Samantha also revealed how much she got paid as a child actor and how her pay doubled when she was given the featured role of Eloise. She posted the videos online where they have since collectively gathered over 4.7 million views with many people loving hearing her experience. Samantha said: “I played the part of Eloise Midgen and wanted to talk about how amazing it was. “I revealed what we ate, the snacks behind the scenes, the no stealing rules, the highs and the lows and remembering friends I’m no longer in contact with and hoping to find them. “I’m discussing how much we got paid as child actors on the set of Harry Potter and how much my pay increased when I was given a featured role. “I talk about the gratitude I have for being on set as it doesn’t seem like much money now but the constant stream of food was like being at an all inclusive resort. “The internet has found George, the boy I loved, and I’ve got in contact with him! “I reminisced over the time Dumbledore accidentally spat in my face whilst saying his lines in the Harry Potter film and I jokingly called it a career highlight, as it was genuinely an honour to work with such an incredible iconic star.”
