Wedding videographer Austin Mitchell was behind the camera, when best man Derek Currie stepped up to the microphone for brother and groom, Gary Currie and his new wife Kirsty, at Doubletree Dunblane Hydro in Perthshire. Derek decided to share the story of one Christmas that Gary and his beloved once spent with each other. It began on Christmas morning when Derek came downstairs only to be met with a slap from his mother, saying, ‘What did I tell you about bringing folk back here?!’ Perplexed, Derek told his mum that he had been in bed all night fast asleep but she did not consider that next door where Gary was staying. But Christmas morning carried on as normal, opening presents with Derek, and his mum and dad when a rustling could be heard from what they referred to as the ‘Auld House’. Derek went upstairs to investigate only to find Kirsty Currie and what Derek describes as; “her legs at ten to two.” He went on to say in the video that “She certainly never came down the chimney in that position, Merry Christmas, Kirsty.” None of the wedding party were expecting such a story with them all hunched over laughing with a hint of embarrassment.
