The footage shows the moment officers spotted the fleeing culprits with one deputy shouting 'Don’t make us release our K-9', followed by the officer barking trying to impersonate the make-believe dogs. Several barks later, the police were successful in the arrest after the frightened thieves surrendered themselves with one stating: “As soon as I heard that dog, I gave up." A spokesperson for the Pierce County Sheriff Department said: “Awesome job and an A+ for creativity in figuring out a way to get these juvenile car thieves to surrender!”
