Kasi Rivera was on Myrtle beach in South Carolina, where people had gathered on July 4 to watch fireworks on the strip and marvel at the illuminations. However, as Kasi got her phone out to record the event, chaos ensued as the fireworks began to malfunction. The pyrotechnics had failed and started to fly towards buildings and people relaxing on the beach as everyone scrambled to run away from the chaos. Kasi said: “There were a lot of people hanging out on the beach watching fireworks from the whole strip down and I was trying to get a good shot of fireworks, so pulled out my phone to hit record , little did I know I recorded the chaos that happened. “I was a little confused about what was happening. I started to notice it was a malfunction once I saw it hit the direction of the hotel. “After that I saw it hitting a family in front of us and was shocked and everyone started to run back. “Once it was done, the guy who was lighting those fireworks continued right after it happened and was stopped by others nearby. He left afterwards.”
