Donny LaFerr, from Duncan, Oklahoma, was in the Gulf of Mexico, when he and the other passengers aboard the Carnival Cruise spotted a capsized vessel on June 10. It was unknown whether any passengers were on or under the capsized boat as it floated aimlessly alongside the cruise liner. What was more worrying was the threat of sharks Donny spotted swimming around the flipped lifeboat, that can be spotted in the water. Donny's video was posted to TikTok where it amassed over 14 million views across his two videos. Donny said: "We didnt know whether we were looking for a person that was alive or dead. "The captain comes on the speaker and says we are going to have to turn around and try to find a capsize vessel. "Everyone started looking and we couldnt tell whether there was somebody on the boat or in the boat."
