Young Barn Owl Snatches Mouse From Mum Before Gulping It Down Whole

A young barn owl was spotted snatching food from its mum before swallowing the meal down whole. 

Wildlife ecologist Dr Motti Charter, set up a monitored nest box camera in Haifa, Israel, when he spotted a greedy owlet snatching food from its mum. 

As the mother arrives at the nest, the young owl can be seen immediately trying to take the mouse from her and eventually succeeds before quickly stuffing it in its beak. 

The owlet then swallows the meal whole as mum flies off in search of more food.
