Scottish Man Walked 3,200 Miles Across The USA In Aid Of Children’s Charity
This proud Scot walked himself and his buggy from the Pacific Ocean in California, all the way to the Atlantic on the East Coast in the aid of charity.
Nathan Graham, 23, landed in Los Angeles where he began his journey in April 2022, and 152 days and 3,200 miles later, he arrived at the Atlantic Pier in New York on December 14.
The Dunfermline man started the journey to clear the passing of his grandfather but decided to tie in a good cause, Boards for Bairns, a city charity which aims to provide skateboards for disadvantaged children, and has since raised £6,000 for the cause.
The journey took him through suburban areas to empty plains and rural towns all with his pram, which contained his essentials like his tent which homed him over the nine months.
By the end of the trip, Nathan was travelling over a marathon a day, racking up to 30 miles a single day.
Between rest days at hotels, Nathan was travelling rough as he had to pitch his tent in the middle of the vast American plains but he also met kind and friendly strangers along the way that helped.
Nathan recalls a night where a couple of 'Hippies' let him sleep in their abandoned bus for an unforgettable nights sleep.
Thousands have been keeping track of Nathan's journey on TikTok where he has amounted over 18,000 followers.
Nathan said: "I have shared videos on TikTok and have quickly gained followers, people I meet out here are always curious about what I’m doing.
"I've been full of all emotions, mainly exhaustion and excitement."
