CCTV Camera Catches Plane Crash That Killed Pilot And Injured Two Passengers Whilst On Sightseeing Flight In Long Island

The moment that a small aircraft crashed, which killed the pilot and injured two passengers, was captured on home CCTV in a Long Island neighbourhood.
The crash occurred near 5th Street and North Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst, while approaching Republic Airport in Farmingdale on March 5th.
The plane was seen flying in the direction of the airport before falling short by approximately 300 feet as the crash was picked up by the camera and a large plume of smoke shortly after.
The plane, a privately-owned single-engine Piper PA 28, was on a sightseeing tour in the area when 23-year-old Fayzul Chowdhury issued a mayday signal as he apparently reported smoke coming into the cockpit.
There were no injuries to anyone on the ground.
